THE beautiful Beach Lawns must not be encroached upon by the plans for the Tropicana. They leave a lengthy narrow strip of lawns adjacent to Beach Road. No-one would be able to use this as it is too close to the road for safety. The Henry Boot 'picture' showing children playing on it shows the total fantasy of their presentation. The Boot plans also do not show fully the loss of sea views caused by the raising of the promenade and the width of the proposed project. The inclusion of a large hotel, cinema, bowling alley etc is completely out of place at this residential part of the town, and the size of the swimming pool is far too small. It seems the vast majority of Weston residents and visitors are telling the council that what we want is just a good indoor swimming pool with, perhaps, a cafe, restaurant and toilets. That's all, and this would not spoil the sweep of our beautiful Beach Lawns. Please reject the proposals and think again.MARY JONES - Via email
