I am writing in response to the front page article in the North Somerset Times dated November 7 regarding the psychic fair in Nailsea and your request for readers responses.I am writing as a Christian who, in my youth, was involved in the occult and psychic issues. At the time I perceived such matters as harmless and intriguing and avidly explored the subject. It was only on becoming a Christian that I realised how potentially dangerous such matters as fortune telling, spiritualism and allied subjects can prove to be.As for the event being held on Remembrance Sunday, the timing is most unfortunate. I support Mrs Ponsonby's clear stand over this matter and that Christians in Nailsea should not be supportive of the event.Eric Smith - Address supplied
