I AM writing to you about the articles in the Mercury on September 24 about the horse that was killed and the bridleways.

Being a horse owner I wish to point out that our roads are becoming unsafe for horses and riders.

I feel that all our roads should be horse safe, as it is not only Hutton that needs to be made safe.

I feel that the Wolvershill Road from Worle to Banwell also needs to be made safe as I have had two near misses along that road.

If this can't be done there should be more bridleways opened up so that horse and rider can be safe when out hacking.

I also feel that car owners should be aware that the horse was on the roads long before cars.

If there are other horse owners out there who feel the same as me and would like to do something about making our road safe or opening up more bridleways I would like to hear from them with any of their ideas.

Please feel free to contact me on the address given.
