ONCE again the council's planners are trying to prevent Weston acquiring what would appear to be a very valuable leisure facility ie a covered driving range at the golf club. We are a town whose main reasons for existence are providing leisure and pleasant retirement facilities but every time an entrepreneur tries to increase what is available the planners look only for reasons for why they can turn it down. Councillors should be out there beating the bushes searching for people willing to invest in the town and then making sure the planners do their correct job of helping good ideas becoming worthwhile realistic and not simply taking the easy way out of avoiding work by just refusing submissions. Councillors and planners seem free to lessen their workloads by resorting to quick refusals and also to indulging in their foibles of whatever they want or don't want to see built. This town belongs to its citizens and not to these people, so let's have what we want and not what they think is best for us.NAME AND ADDRESS SUPPLIED
