I LIVE locally and walk to Backwell pool, as do many residents in the village. It is a valuable facility, well used by adults and children from Backwell and further afield throughout the year. Let Nailsea have its swimming pool but keep Backwell open. Backwell pool may not be at the forefront of pool design but, with recent improvements under way, which include new disabled access and work to the car park, it provides a pool for adults and children which would still be well used, even if Nailsea has its own facility. Why destroy this good, well-used building for a proposed pool in Nailsea, which is likely to be a long way from being constructed owing to lack of finance? It is a complete waste of resources and the whole thing needs to be put into perspective.MARY - Backwell resident
