For those who have noticed the water level in the Marine Lake at Weston going down over the last few days, this is not as a result of evaporation in the hot weather, 'faulty workmanship' or children emptying it with their buckets, but is due to a bit of mindless vandalism by persons trying to force open one of the sluice gates. Presumably the same yobs who thought it would be fun to splatter mud over the nearby wall. Sad isn't it?Anyway normal service should be resumed by the time of the next high tide and meanwhile we are examining CCTV footage with the aim of prosecuting those responsible ... any clues gratefully received.CLLR ELFAN AP REES - Deputy Leader, North Somerset Council
