I HAVE returned from a holiday in Exmouth. Talking to some people from Solihull also on holiday, their remark to me was "we feel very sorry for you living in Weston". Talking further, they and several of their friends used to come to Weston for holidays. They said there were far too many drug-takers about and there is no outdoor pool. I agreed with them. I moved to Weston some 50 years ago and consider myself a local now. Back then it was heaven, the outdoor pool, two theatres, cinemas, a bus station (which when demolished could have been turned into an ice rink or roller skating venue), a beautiful pool indoor and out, my children enjoyed the latter two. Now my grown up grandchildren don't go to Weston clubs or nightlife, they go out of Weston. It makes me weep that the place has gone down so much. These drug rehabs and now a bail hostel. "Come on you councillors, pull your finger out". Weston 50 years go was bursting at the seams in summer. Weston is becoming, I am ashamed to say, a dump. There are lots of young families in Weston now with all the building that has gone on.I am sure a lot of people in my generation feel the same. We are towards the end of our lives but think, councillors, please. The younger people have got to be considered our future.S ROWLEY - Tamar Road, Worle
