How unfortunate Mary Ponsonby is to be outraged by the thought of the physhic fair on Remembrance Day. I am a spiritualist and have been for over 16 years. If Mary and others believe blindly that we do talk to the dead perhaps she should visit one of our churches. I talk to the dead, my father died in World War II and I talk often to him, as I am certain many people talk to their loved ones who have gone over to the other side. Remembrance Sunday is very special and hopefully will always be so in our country. I do special flowers for the church I attend and we always say special prayers on this day for the lives that were lost. Oh yes, we say prayers, we say the Lord's prayer and we sing hymns in our churches. Maybe Mary should attend a service and rid herself of her ideas. We do not sit in the dark rapping on tables or holding hands and calling out: "Is anybody there?" Yes there are one or two people who are not gifted mediums and, of course, we have members who are not perfectly spiritual, but then there are Christians, Baptists, Catholics, Jews and many other religions who have their share of imperfect people. "Judge not, lest ye be judged". People should be allowed to attend a meeting on such a special day. The people who gave their lives for this country did so to enable us to be free. This means freedom of choice or should we, as spiritualist, have to go to the Human Rights committee?June Thalia Waterhouse - Wemberham Crescent, Yatton
