MY GP said to me nearly two weeks ago he would make an urgent appointment for me at the dermatology department at Weston General Hospital. As I have heard nothing, I rang the surgery, only to be asked to ring the hospital. On ringing the hospital, when I finally got through I was told there would be a long wait to speak to appointments and would I ring back later? I rang back at 4pm and after a wait of well over 10 minutes I got through, only to be told they had no record or details and could only suggest I ring my surgery, which I did. With all the money being spent on the NHS and being mindful of the cutbacks at Weston hospital, isn't it time they tried to improve the waiting time to answer a telephone call?I wait to see how long it will be until my urgent appointment.
