I UNDERSTAND that Henry Boot has now formally withdrawn from its future development of the Tropicana site.
I UNDERSTAND that Henry Boot has now formally withdrawn from its future development of the Tropicana site.
It appears that Councillor Elfan Ap Fees will be 'consulting with the people' over his next move for the site.
Surely, if he listened to the people, he would know that the vast majority only want what they originally had - an open-air lido-style pool, with a moving roof if possible.
There are entrepreneurs in this town who would most probably be interested in developing a 'new' Tropicana. Consult with them to get their assistance.
In the meantime, to reassure Cllr Ap Fees that 'the will of the people' is to have a refurbished existing Tropicana, the nine independent Premier Stores spread throughout Weston are starting a petition within each store.
As those most affected by no swimming pool are youngsters, we will also be organising a petition for the under-18s - the future voice of democracy.
