AS THE council has now decided that we are to get a sea wall that nobody seems to want, has it taken into consideration the reduction in tourism that this will cause, which will I am sure in turn mean yet another chance to increase the already high council tax that we all have to pay. Many years ago Weston was a town which was forward thinking and attracted large amounts of visitors. Since the total depletion of the town with the ongoing Tropicana proposals/plans, the drug problems, rehabilitation centres that seem to take drug users in from most of the country, and now the loss of the view because of this wall, we are in danger of becoming a typical backwater which nobody will want to live in or visit. There is the possibility that with the record the council holds for not completing projects that we could be lucky and this wall will not be completed in our lifetime.I would suggest the councillors remember who elected them and that the residents will hold the key at the next elections.GEOFF BEAVENSouth Lawn Close, Locking
