I HAVE lived in Station Road, Weston, for 25 years. My garden backs onto the tennis courts and in all that time we have had no bother at all. When the floodlights were installed we were told they would be turned off at 10pm and that has been the case. Can Sylvia and Ethel Spackman visualise what would happen should the courts close? It would become a prime building plot ripe for development. As a retired builder I estimate you would easily get, say, 50 flats on the site with ample parking.Neighbours I have spoken to say this could not happen because the site is surrounded by houses so there is no access to it, but with a site of this size developers would pay well over the market price to buy a house or two to demolish and construct a road. There would be then not one or two but hundreds of lights on all night, what with street lamps, house lights, etc. Then there would be the noise, cars, etc, and our gardens would be overlooked.Would Debbie Young like to visit my house? We can read all night in our bedrooms because of the lights from around Tesco. Perhaps she could get Tesco closed down as well but we close our curtains. Come on. Station Road and Neva Road, act now before it is too late.CLIVE ALEXANDER - Station Road, Weston
