I WOULD, of course, like the right to reply to a letter printed in the Weston Mercury on December 15 which I believe is directed at myself. We are a three-member ward - I live in Milton, one lives in Worle and one lives in Castle Batch, so it must be me!

I WOULD, of course, like the right to reply to a letter printed in the Weston Mercury on December 15 which I believe is directed at myself. We are a three-member ward - I live in Milton, one lives in Worle and one lives in Castle Batch, so it must be me! If you are going to write a fairy tale it would help if you could at least give an author's name so as I may reply personally to you? Please also can you give correct facts! My ward is Milton and Old Worle - a lot of people forget Milton and I am continually reminding them we exist. So everyone has a right to services on the ward. The said crossing is above Ashcombe Park, was campaigned for by residents, councillors and the children of Milton Brow, for many years - it has no personal gain to myself and it was not put in for me - what a ridiculous suggestion! If you had your facts correct you would even know that the said crossing is not in the ward of Milton and Old Worle! Yes it is in the next ward. Councillors from that ward together with myself, put forward recorded data and a small amount of monies from an area committee to do the works. This amount would not even 'touch' the works needed for Worle and its traffic problems. Another fact to correct - out of nine Worle councillors I was the only one who voted for some sort of one-way system to help ease the problems on the The Scaurs, Lawrence Road, Church Road, etc. Councillor Burden made his judgement with the majority decision - so I have never, nor will I, desert Old Worle, and continue to lobby for safety improvements. Worle High Street had some traffic calming measures ready to be in place this year, but these have now been delayed as traders and residents did not agree with all the plan. It was a part of 'Safer Routes to School' programme - worked with the local schools. As for your 'lookouts' please buy them some new binoculars for Christmas, as I have stopped my car, a number of times for those using the crossing, and I know it is used by folks in Forest Drive and beyond. We have a park for children and dog walkers and a duty to keep them safe just as we have a duty to keep others in the ward safe. Please whoever you are - don't write 'fairy tales' (I don't play games) and I take all of my ward very seriously, and will continue to 'fight' the corner for pavements on Church Road and safety measures on The Scaurs and beyond.ROZ WILLISAshbury Drive, Weston
