I TRUST that if North Somerset is contemplating giving us fortnightly rubbish collections they will also supply us with wheelie bins. I know of nowhere in the country that does fortnightly collections where the residents have to supply their own 'containers'. My black sacks get ripped to shreds by cats and foxes as it is. I have purchased dustbins but they continually get stolen and if I was suddenly told I have to have two weeks of ripped bags I would not be amused. I currently have a load of garden rubbish awaiting collection but every time I put my green bag out with green waste in it, it gets nicked. On the last occasion I was told I could buy them for only £1. So now the council expects me to pay a £1 a fortnight for that bag to be taken too. This council needs to get its act together. Before collecting food waste, it should collect coloured cardboard and plastic. This is what makes up at least 75 per cent of my rubbish as I recycle and compost everything I can. They collect brown cardboard but not coloured, yet if I were to take my coloured cardboard to the tip myself it gets chucked in the same skip as the brown card. What's that about then?KAREN TAYLORWorle
