COUNCILLOR Nigel Ashton wants to fill the Tropicana with concrete. Why not fill it with water?

He should go cap in hand back to Richard Nightingale and confess to being wrong when the council rejected Mr Nightingale's application to give us a pool back.

There went a local man who listened to what Weston wanted and was prepared to invest a fortune on revamping the pool so we would have somewhere for our children and tourists to swim, but the council said no!

The council was wrong to make this decision and planning to concrete it over now because Henry Boot has given up is proof of that.

Weston continues to have nowhere to swim within two miles of the town centre, perhaps the decision makers in the council don't like to swim, and therefore think that tourists or locals don't like to swim either.

Wouldn't do for us to be too healthy now would it?
