THE report concerning the Severn Barrage that throws doubt on chances that this important structure will ever be built is a death blow to Weston. Global scientific evidence now is beyond any doubt that sea levels will rise much faster than originally thought through global warming. The conservationists are wrong if they think that wildlife will be alright without the barrage, it won't. It will be over-run like the rest of us. If as now predicted sea levels rise by up to three metres over the next 30 years, without the barrage to help stop this nightmare, Weston will be washed away.CRAIG CAMIDGE - Via email
