I REFER to the letter from Cllr John Crockford-Hawley in your issue of September 8. Aren't 'editorials' written by the editor? I am sure we all realise he is directing many issues in Weston, including the recent re-vamping of the Kewstoke Toll Road, the boating ponds and, of course, the new sea wall (forgive a sad old anorak but wasn't there some problem at NSC last year with the application for funding for this?) and I can well understand that he feels frustrated at times. May this SOA suggest in all humility to the EM for SP & T, that the new wall should follow the model of that at Minehead rather than that at Burnham? Not for the first time, I am sorry Cllr Crockford-Hawley does not have any respect for the views of we SOAs, most of whom I think have votes to cast, not to mention their family members and friends. At least SOAs take the time and trouble to express our concerns regarding what is going on, or not going on, in Weston and it is not our fault if others who agree with us remain the silent majority. Also we are prepared to give our names and addresses for publication, so obviously we are willing to be contacted direct.I appreciate Cllr Crockford-Hawley works very hard and that he does have the interests of Weston at heart. However, if you put you head above the parapet, you must be prepared to be shot at. President Harry S Truman had a notice on his desk: "The buck stops here".JACQUELINE FISHERWhitstocks, North Petherton
