I READ your article regarding Astill's closing their shop in Weston's Sovereign Shopping Centre with sadness and a little anger. The sheer arrogance of the centre manager to say "the rent is expensive for a reason - like all things you get what you pay for". (Mercury, page 3, December 27).Who gets what they pay for? Certainly not the public who could quite well go to, Bristol, Yeovil or Taunton to shop in exactly the same outlets as Weston. We want more private, individual shops not less. So come on, Weston High Street start to realise the public can vote with their wallets and feet.TONY DERRICK - Wet Lane, Draycott
