REGARDING the whinging 'oldies' and Carters Steam Fair, what a sorry state we are in if we can't see the younger generation enjoy themselves as we did in bygone days.We took the fairground for granted, but they are now few and far between. Unfortunately I had to miss the last week as I went to Blandford Steam Fair for my annual holiday. I enjoyed every minute of it! What a pity we couldn't have this fair on the Beach Lawns. That would have given them something to complain about. Well done, Carters, and well done North Somerset Council for at last realising that Weston needs more entertainment. I look forward to more of this in the near future.GERALD FEAR - Southend Road, Weston
