Tamar Court, which is being run by Alliance Homes, is based in Tamar Road and will provide 24-hour dementia support and housing for people aged over 55.

It has 65 self-contained flats for rent and for sale, and includes a restaurant, three communal rooms and guest rooms.

The building was opened with a social event, with children from Becket Primary School singing carols to the new and prospective residents.

The hope is Tamar Court will be well integrated within the community, and members of the Big Worle group also went along to talk about the work they do to improve the Worle area.
