An agent which hopes to build 200 houses and a doctors’ surgery on the outskirts of Weston has voiced its plans to take the application to appeal.

Sutherland Property and Legal Services has announced it will take future action against North Somerset Council in order to obtain planning permission to build the large-scale development, shops, pharmacy and medical centre on Sanders Fields in Bleadon.

The council has still not issued a formal decision about the plans.

However, the would-be developer has already said it is determined to take the matter to appeal to the planning inspectorate.

A spokesman for Sutherland Property and Legal Services said: “North Somerset needs housing, now and for the future and we will not be delayed in taking forward appropriate development to secure Bleadon’s future as a thriving village.”

Sutherland Property says the plans feature highway safety improvements but the proposals has sparked objections among Bleadon residents.
