NOMINATIONS for the new mayor and deputy mayor for Axbridge have been received.
At a town council meeting last week, current deputy mayor Kate Browne was nominated for mayor, while Jennifer Trotman's name was put forward for deputy mayor.
Mayor Mike Taylor will be stepping down from his post in May and handing over the chains to someone else.
The new positions will be officially named at the council's annual parish meeting on May 12.
Last year marked 450 years of Axbridge having a mayor and town council. A Tudor banquet was held to mark the anniversary.
