BUSINESS at Portishead's Marina is booming with the launch of several new waterfront cafes and bars. Me Me Chocolat has opened on the ground floor of the Mirage building in Harbour Road.

Run by husband and wife team Amanda and Adam Weekes, the cafe bar has already established itself as a popular haunt for locals and visitors alike.

This is the second venture for the couple from Failand, who have three young children, they also run an established cafe bar in Clifton.

Me Me Chocolat offers a wide range of freshly prepared food, organic, Fairtrade coffees served with different syrups to flavour them and their speciality beverage is hot chocolate made with melted chocolate.

Also recently opened at the marina is the Lockhouse bar and restaurant where chef Richard Gynn, who was trained by Gordan Ramsay, offers an exclusive contemporary menu from 11am until 11pm.

With stunning views of the Bristol Channel, Welsh coastline, passing boats and nearby marina lock, the listed bar area, superb conservatory restaurant and allocated outside terrace, provides a fantastic setting within a relaxing environment.

Owner Deborah Griffith, who lives in the Redcliffe Bay area of Portishead, said: "We pride ourselves on providing a quality selection of food, drink and services to our clients.

"We are conscious of our role within the community and where possible, will use quality locally sourced produce and beverages to support our local economy, values and environment."

The three new venues will soon be joined by Italian restaurant Il Botellino's which is currently under construction at the Marina.
