IT IS not often a school has terrific judgments from three inspections in one year but St. Joseph's Catholic Primary School in Portishead is celebrating just that.
The most recent of the three inspections, the Diocesan Section 48, judged the school in Bristol Road as 'outstanding' saying the school 'promotes children's spiritual and moral development, and has an outstanding ethos of Catholic life which pervades the whole school'.
Ofsted judged the school 'good, with outstanding features', noting particularly the 'happy harmonious community where pupils enjoy learning and teachers' enthusiasm and professionalism shine through in lessons'.
Finally, design and technology inspectors judged the teaching of the subject, 'good with many outstanding features'.
Headteacher, Lis Jeffery said: "The children, staff and parents deserve this affirmation. St. Joseph's is unique and being part of the community is a privilege.
"In each of the three inspections the work of our exceptional learning support assistants has been acknowledged as a major factor in each child's success.
