VOLUNTEERS who can help support young people in their community can pop along to an event on Monday.
North Somerset Youth Offending Team (YOT) is holding an information evening from 7-8pm at its offices in Oxford Street, Weston.
It is for anyone who is interested in finding out more about being a mentor.
Mentoring involves meeting once a week with a young person aged 13-17 to take part in sports and social activities and act as a positive role model.
Mentors need to be at least 23 years old and be able to agree to complete the initial training programme and give a minimum of 12 months commitment to a young person.
The project currently has a number of men who need a positive male role model in their lives.
The young people are at risk of social exclusion, offending or anti-social behaviour and need help to make positive decisions about their life and their future.
Fore more details call Esther Lambert or Steve Coggins on 01275 888360 or write to J21, North Somerset Youth Offending Team, 59 Oxford Street, Weston, BS23 1TR.
