A GROUP of youngsters showed it was the season to be jolly when it celebrated its Christmas carol service.
The event, held by Worle District Girl Guides, took place at Locking Castle Church in Bransby Way, Weston.
More than 150 rainbows, brownies and guides turned up to the service, conducted by Reverend Mark Elvi, dressed as angels, kings and wise men.
The nativity story was read out by Rev Elvin with chocolate bars and sweets hidden in the text. The kings brought a 'Bounty' for baby Jesus and Mary heard a 'Wispa' from Angel Gabriel. The girls got the chocolate bars if they were the first to notice them.
There was also a wrapping paper competition, and the pictures on the decorative materials were drawn by the youngsters. The contest winners were 1st Worle Rainbows, 2nd Worle Brownies and 1st Milton Guides.
