3.20pm 05.09.07 - A PENSIONER has died after falling down the stairs on a bus.
Francis Howorth, aged 72, boarded the X1 for Bristol from Martindale Road.
Mr Howorth went up to the top deck, but as the bus pulled away he fell backwards, back down the stairs to the lower deck.
As a result, he sustained serious back injuries and was taken to Weston General Hospital, then to Frenchay Hospital, but died on Sunday.
Police are now hoping to piece together the moments before the incident happened.
The incident happened at around 9.20am on August 10.
It is believed the bus was almost full at the time.
