MEMBERS of Weston's very own cheerleading group have been celebrating a fantastic double.
Shooting Stars reached the finals in their first outing at a national cheerleading competition.
More than 50 girls took part in the annual British Cheerleading Association gala in Telford after raising £10,000 for transport to the event and entry fees.
The group, coached by Laura Febery and Sam Leadbetter, competed against 400 other squads from across the UK and one group from Canada.
Sam said: "The children did really well and we are very proud of them. To get to the final of their first competition was a fantastic result."
Last week the group celebrated the opening of its new dance school in Churchill Road which can now cater for adult classes.
Shooting Stars is still looking for kit sponsors. Anyone interested in sponsoring the group or joining cheerleading classes can call Laura Febery on 07986156005.
