Earlier this month the Weston & Somerset Mercury revealed that Reverend Robert Channon had offered to sell one of his churches to raise cash for a new community centre on the Maltlands.
Rev Channon and fellow community centre committee member Sarah Pearce met last week with North Somerset Council leader Nigel Ashton to ask for £10,000 to keep the existing building open until a new one is built.
