GOLF enthusiasts have completed three rounds of the sport in England, Scotland and Wales, in less than 24 hours.

The four members of Blagdon Golf Society took on the challenge to raise money for children's charity Barnardos.

Kevin Bond, Steve Fraser, Malcolm Taylor and Andy Gregory raised £1,000 after playing the three courses.

Their first game took place at Dewstow Golf Club in Monmouthshire, Wales, at 6am.

They then travelled to the Tall Pines golf course, near Bristol International Airport, before flying to Scotland to play at the Renfrewshire Golf Club near Glasgow, where they eventually finished at 10.30pm.

Steve, who works with Malcolm and Kevin at Somerlap Forest Products in Mark, said they roped him into the challenge when they thought it up at the pub.

Steve said: "It was definitely hard work. You would think playing three games would improve my golf but it just got worse as we got nearer to the end.

"Despite it being a long day, we have raised a lot of money for a worthwhile charity at the same time."

The four friends competed against each other during the challenge and Malcolm came out on top.
