A FATHER-OF-FOUR who suffers from angina and back problems says he has to arrive at his children's school an hour before they finish to stand any chance of getting a disabled parking space.Steve Marsh, of Partridge Close, Weston, says people who do not hold blue badges are leaving their cars in many of the nine available bays near the main entrance of The Campus in Highlands Lane, Locking Castle. The 53-year-old, who has two children at Herons' Moor Community Primary School, says he speaks for at least another 20 disabled people. He said: "People are parking in the bays when they shouldn't and sometimes block us in as well. We want to stop people parking there illegally. "People think they can park there but it is just not on. I have angina and a back problem and if I stand up for 10 minutes I have had it."A North Somerset Council spokesman said: "I have spoken to the manager of The Campus and he said there is a problem but also says the majority of people who park there are blue badge holders."There are a few who abuse the system and he is aware of it."Staff from The Campus and Herons' Moor and Baytree schools do try to speak to people who park there and aren't supposed to."The manager of The Campus is organising a meeting with the headteachers of both schools to discuss the issue and see if there is anything that can be done."The schools have written to parents to ask them not to park there but unfortunately some do.
