RESIDENTS in Burnham are campaigning against plans for 14 flats on the seafront which they say are 'completely inappropriate'. People living in Allandale Road, met this week to discuss the planning application submitted to Sedgemoor District Council by Moose Roper Limited.Jane Lambert, who lives in Allandale Road, said: "The development is completely inappropriate for the quiet, friendly cul-de-sac and it is going to have a detrimental visual impact on Burnham's coastline. "A development of this size, scale and presence cannot exist in harmony with the neighbouring houses and community. The road has a total of 17 residences, but if the proposal is given the go-ahead this will rise to 31, a staggering 82 per cent increase."The plans were given to the council last month and include proposals for a three-storey building with 14 flats and car parking facilities at a site in Allandale Road. Jane added: "We will all be fighting to keep Burnham the traditional English seaside town we love." To view the planning application visit www.sedgemoor.gov.uk
