TWO shopaholics from Weston went wild in the aisles and won £5,000 on a television game show.Mother-of-three Cheryl Elkins, of Powis Close, and Nicky Mager, of Priory Road, competed on Supermarket Sweep, hosted by Dale Winton.Cheryl, who celebrates her 40th birthday this week, said game show 'pro' and mother-of-two, Nicky, aged 36, asked her to take part.She said: " Nicky tried to get on another show and was unsuccessful but then was offered a slot on Supermarket Sweep."We went to Bristol for the auditions and were successful so then we went to Kent, where the show is filmed."I completed the trolley dash with about two seconds to spare."I was on Take Your Pick eight years ago and Nicky has been on Family Fortunes, The Generation Game and Supermarket Sweep before."Dale was really friendly and made us feel welcome."We both love shopping so everyone laughed when they found out we were going on the show."In a twist of fate the checkout girl on the show during filming was former Worle Community School pupil Vikki Thomas, who moved to London from Weston seven years ago.Vikki will appear in the new series of Supermarket Sweep for the next three months.She said: "I was actually in pantomime with Cheryl and Nicky when I was seven so I was really rooting for them. I was shouting 'come on Weston'.
