A NEW law detailing how 'interesting' parts of people's bodies should be pierced or tattooed is set to be made.Rules against sleeping in vehicles overnight and urinating in public are also being created as North Somerset Council reviews its bylaws. After a year's consultation with parish and town councils the authority has compiled a list of bylaws to be repealed and created.Historic rules banning people from taking a goat into Weston's Winter Gardens or beating a carpet on Kewstoke beach will be scrapped.Other rules to be relegated to dusty law books include not letting 'offensively unclean' people into Weston's library and a ban on placing orange peel and banana skins on footpaths. The council has more than 90 bylaws and councillors agreed for the more archaic ones to be abolished at a meeting on Tuesday.Five new laws are also being proposed including a law against touting and increasing controls on jet skis.Proposed changes will go to the Government to officially change the law.A council spokesman said: "The law bringing in controls on piercing, tattooing, acupuncture and electrolysis in line with modern requirements came about because on an increase in demand to pierce interesting parts of the body."Making sleeping in a vehicle overnight on Weston's streets an offence was suggested by a member of the public.
