BOLLARDS are to be fitted to stop gypsies camping on grassland on a Weston housing estate. The wooden blockades are to be installed on the edge of open land in Loxton Road on the Coronation estate by North Somerset Council after a campaign led by Councillor Ian Parker. Two traveller families turned up on the land recently. It was the second time in a matter of months travellers had set up camp on the ground.Cllr Parker said: "After a meeting with officers it has been agreed to install the bollards within the next four to six weeks, which should stop travellers using the space."After the most recent travellers left, there were significant clean-up costs and we hope the bollards will stop this happening again.
