A PREHISTORIC plant has taken root in a Somerset garden centre. The Wollemi Pine was thought to have become extinct two million years ago, but it was rediscovered in 1994. The pine became famous last Christmas when one of the larger specimens sold for several thousand pounds at auction. Smaller plants are now available at Sanders GardenWorld in Brent Knoll. Managing Director Peter Burks said: "It's a fantastic opportunity and a real coup to be able to offer our customers this unique and previously thought-to-be-extinct tree.
