THE CHIEF Executive of Weston Area Health Trust has announced he will be leaving the NHS after more than three years in the post.Mark Gritten has decided to retire from the health service in the Spring next year due to ill health.He said: "I am 55 years old next March and recognise now that I need to move to a role that allows me some time to recover my full fitness, so I have decided to retire from the NHS."Mr Gritten left the Army in 1990 to join the NHS, and has served at chief executive level for 17 years. Trust chair, Linda Skinner, said: "Mark will leave Weston Area Health Trust in a stronger and more successful position than he found it and take the respect and gratitude of us all with him. We wish him well and hope his health improves swiftly.
