RICKY Tomlinson brings his show, A Humorous Evening with Jim Royle, to The Playhouse, Weston, on March 28.One of Britain's favourite comic actors, renowned for his roles in The Royle Family and Mike Bassett - Football Manager, Ricky has devised this show himself.He has been the recipient of several awards including the Royal Television Society's Best Actor in 1999 and National Television Actor of the Year in 2001 and has also starred in Down to Earth and Brookside.Ricky's previous occupations have been many and varied and include stints as a banjo player, plasterer, union agitator and political activist, spending a spell in prison for unlawful assembly after picketing building sites.The show is hosted by Elton Welsby of Granada TV and has been deemed suitable for all ages.
