The Avon and Somerset Constabulary have now identified the next of kin of a man whose body was found in a tent near Weston-Super-Mare.
Police say the discovery of the next of kin follows a ‘great response’ from the public to an appeal issued on Thursday (August 9).
The body was discovered by officers off the A370 approaching Weston on August 15, 2017; up until now they were unable to locate a next of kin despite ‘extensive enquiries’.
PC Andy Henderson said: “I’d like to thank all those who called in with information after seeing our appeal.
“We had struggled to track the man’s next-of-kin down but we have now managed to speak to them and put them in touch with the coroner.
“We will now continue to provide them with support while the formal identification process takes place.”
