A WESTON librarian has been getting into the Dismaland spirit by setting up a Banksy trail around the town’s library.

Roxy Sahota completed the project on August 27, soon after the news about the exhibition broke.

Bristol Central Library has loaned Weston Library their books about the artist and, according to Roxy, they are being borrowed at a pleasingly high rate.

She said: “I decided to make the trail to give people a more interactive experience where they could spend some time learning about the message behind many of Banksy’s pieces.

“There has been a lot of positive reaction from the public. One person said they had tried booking Dismaland tickets but had failed and that it was nice to have somewhere to come to see some of his art work.

“Others have been taking photos and keeping the completed trail sheets as souvenirs.”

Roxy was lucky enough to get tickets and see the event for herself.

She added: “Without doubt Dismaland has caused a huge buzz in Weston, not least because of the influx of a different demographic to what we would normally see, but also because locals are saying to us that it makes them feel proud to say they’re from from the town.”

The trail will be kept in place at Weston Library, in the Town Hall on Walliscote Grove Road, indefinitely.
