CONTROVERSIAL plans to revamp Clevedon's Victorian promenade will see its second stage of works start next month.
Under the plans, cyclist and pedestrian use will be prioritised, roads will be narrowed and speed limits introduced.
The council says the 'improvement works' will enable the transition to a carbon-neutral district by the year 2030.
Revamps on Hill Road have recently been completed and works on The Beach will begin from October 17, with hopes it will be mostly complete by Christmas.
Construction of the scheme is now set to cost around £694,000.
Local traders on Hill Road will hold a family event on Saturday, September 17, to celebrate that phase of the scheme being completed.
Events take place from 11am to 4pm, including live music, cooking, coffee masterclasses and book signings.
Other improvements include pendant lighting upgrades and a woodland play area in Alexandra Park.
