NORTH Somerset Council has been given almost £21million to repair potholes and carry out repairs.

The money comes from the Government’s Department for Transport, and will be spent from 2015-2021.

The total is £20,943,000 and it is the first time the council has been given funding to cover this length of time.

Councillor Elfan Ap Rees, executive member whose portfolio includes highways, said: “These figures do give us some surety over the period up to 2021 but we are still looking at the figures to see exactly what this means.”
