AN award-winning contemporary dance company is to perform in Weston later this month.

Funded by Arts Council England, the production group Sweetshop Revolution will stop off at The Blakehay Theatre, in Wadham Street, on its national tour.

The show, Your Heart Is Too Loud, is a highly physical ensemble performance that 'wonders what it means to live fully in the moment, and asks what we might change if given just months, weeks or days to live'.

Sweetshop Revolution says it hopes to continually embrace new contexts and reach people across many different locations and backgrounds.

An international cast of four dancers including Jessica Van de Koot, Reece Marshall, Nicole Nevitt, Jovana Zelenovic will bring the work to the stage, under the direction of Sally Marie with design by Minnie Sandbach.

Sweetshop was also nominated as best independent company by National Dance Awards in 2016 and their previous production was nominated as best dance production by The Welsh Dance Awards.

It will show at the Blakehay on Thursday, October 20, from 8pm.

Tickets are priced at £12.50 and can be purchased by visiting blakehaytheatre.co.uk or by phone on 01934 645493.
