Carnival-goers were also treated to 'perfect' weather as continental Europe experiences an unusually mild autumn.
The huge turnout comes after fears the show may be cancelled if it did not secure massive financial support from the community.

This year's winning cart was When Movies Were Movies.
A spokesperson said: "Thank you to all of the carnival clubs for bringing the magic back to the streets of Weston after three long years and to all of the supporters, sponsors and those who helped make it happen behind the scenes and on the streets."
