Guests will be able to meet a charity's guide dogs at the Woodborough Grange development in Winscombe later this month.

Guide Dogs UK will bring several of their dogs and puppies to the Redrow development on Saturday, January 21.

Redrow Southwest has donated £250 to the charity to support the ‘Meet the Guide Dogs’ event.

It will be held at Redrow's Woodborough Grange show home between 12pm and 3pm.

Guests will have the opportunity to meet the guide dogs, who will be accompanied by a couple of the charity’s volunteers.

They will also have the chance to make donations to the charity, which will go towards training guide dogs and starter kits and advice for people with a new dog.

Guide Dogs UK is the world’s largest breeder and trainer of working dogs and largely relies on donations.

Its services enables thousands of people with sight loss to lead confident, independent and fulfilling lives.

Donations created 685 guide dogs partnerships and provided almost 250,000 people with information about sight loss in 2021.

Pam Gratton, Redrow's community fundraising relationship manager in South Devon and Cornwall, said:  “We could not be happier with this donation from Redrow. Our services provide vital support for people living with sight loss, whether that’s through a guide dog, support and advice or rehabilitation training.”

Charlotte Newnes, Area Sales Manager in the Southwest, said: “We are so pleased to be able to help Guide Dogs UK with this donation, as well as it being a great day for everyone who gets to meet these amazing dogs!”

Redrow's Woodborough Grange development is located near the Mendip Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The development will bring a selection of two, three and four and five-bedroom homes to the village, located around 14 miles from Bristol.
