Weston Town Council has been working on making Castle Batch park inclusive and safe for all, partly by installing SEN equipment for children with learning difficulties.

Councillor Marc Aplin has asked North Somerset Council to work closely with Weston Town Council and the police to conjure a plan that ensures the new park is not subject to anti-social behaviour; the park has seen its fair share of criminal damage, such as arson, in its past.

Marc said: "It never made sense to me that we had a lovely green area surrounded by schools and family homes and yet a run down, empty park that was allowed to fall into the state it was."

Action already taken includes installing better lighting to the area and having the police monitor the space. Residents are also asked to report any anti-social behaviour.

Work on the park is hoped to be completed by spring.
