North Somerset Council have worked with Dignity plc on improvements which were made to the memorial gardens at Weston-super-Mare Crematorium.

It is hoped that the grounds can remain a sacred space for families to remember their loved ones.

The crematorium has several new areas to display personal tributes in the shared memorial gardens after feedback from the community asking for more space to do this.

Russell Gadsby, Business Leader at Weston Crematorium, said: “The fencing and vases we have installed are already being well used; we have 7 of these spaced out along the northern boundary of our Gardens of Remembrance. The ample shelving, within the personal memorabilia area, provides plenty of space for visitors to place items such as potted plants, teddy bears, or angels should they wish to."

Any unauthorised tributes will be collected and sensatively removed, and can be picked up by the owners of the items.
