BANWELL Primary School has announced that it is now formally part of the Extend Learning Academies Network (ELAN).

This decision has been made after two or three years of ELAN working closely with the school to achieve academisation, which could help the facility improve provision for children and learn from ELAN's expertise and community.

Claire Pocock, headteacher of Banwell Primary School, said: “We are thrilled to officially be a school within the ELAN family now.

"We know that being part of this innovative, forward thinking trust will only build on the great work that is already going on at Banwell."

ELAN CEO, Adam Matthews, adds: “Although they have already been a part of our trust for some while, staff, governors and trustees are really pleased that Banwell are now officially recognised as part of ELAN and are excited about the opportunities ahead.”
