WESTON museum will be holding a community dig this Easter.
The three day event, starting from April 11, will be held at Ellenborough Park East, allowing local children to get a taster of what it is like to be an Archaeologist.
There will be experts on hand from the North Somerset's Senior Archaeologist and Weston's Archaeological Society.
One day will be for members of Rusty Club, the museum’s Young Archaeologist’s Club, while another will be for home educating families as part of the museum’s learning programme.
The remaining day will be for local families.
Katherine Bell, learning officer at Weston Museum, says: "Children can have a go at some real archaeological techniques, use trowels and sieves to search for finds and then identify them with expert help."
Session times for the family day (April 14) are:
- 10:30am-11:30pm.
- 12pm-1pm.
- 1:30pm-2:30pm.
Tickets cost £7.50.
