PLANS have been submitted to bring 36 new static caravan pitches to Riverside Holiday Village in Bleadon, near Weston-super-Mare.

The application was validated on the North Somerset Council planning portal on Wednesday, April 12.

In recent years, the park has seen an influx in investment, resulting in an extended and refurbished clubhouse with dining facilities and a shop.

The park also has modern shower facilities, an indoor swimming pool, a children's play area and takeaway venues.

The planning application would see 36 additional caravan pitches created to the south of the existing site.

The applicant says the roadways, drainage, water and electrical infrastructure needed for this extended site already exists.

The site is accessible by foot from a bus service, which runs to and from Weston-super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea regularly.

The site also has good road links to the M5 motorway, meaning that the additional pitches could draw in more tourists.
